MSA V-EDGE

At TruStar Safety, your well-being is our top priority. We are sharing an important user notice from MSA regarding their V-EDGE Web PFLs (Personal Fall Limiters) manufactured between May 2018 and January 2025. Review the full notice for the individual model numbers affected.

What MSA Reported

MSA received an isolated field report that a bolt connecting the PFL ring to the energy absorber of the V-EDGE Web PFL separated from the unit, rendering it non-functional. MSA has not received any reports of injuries associated with this condition. However, MSA requests that users perform the inspection outlined in the notice prior to their next use and include it in their pre-use checks and examination procedures.

What You Need to Do

We strongly urge all users of MSA V-EDGE Web PFLs manufactured within the specified dates to immediately perform the additional inspection outlined in MSA's full notice, and to incorporate that inspection into their standard pre-use checks and examination procedures for these devices.

For complete details, obtain the full user notice directly from MSA and confirm the affected model numbers and inspection steps. Staying informed and proactive about safety equipment is crucial to keeping crews protected.

If you need help updating your fall-protection inspection procedures or pre-use checks, TruStar Safety can help.
