Privacy policy

What we collect

• When you contact us or ask for a brochure: your name, email, and the company, phone number and message you choose to give.
• When you ask to be told when a product is ready: your name, email, company, the product, and when you gave consent.
• When you buy: your name, email, billing address, GST number if you enter one, and what you bought. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
• When you use Find my downloads: the email address you enter.
• When you browse: pages visited, referring site, device and browser type, and approximate location, through Google Analytics cookies, and our host’s standard server logs (including IP address) kept for security.

Why we use it

• To answer you and provide the services you ask about.
• To take payment, deliver your templates, let you download them again, and send receipts and invoices.
• To keep the business records tax law requires.
• To send the product notice you asked for. We send marketing email only with your consent, and every message says how to stop.
• To understand how the website is used, and to keep it secure.

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Who processes it for us

We use these service providers. Some store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under the laws of that country:

• Stripe: payments, tax calculation, receipts and invoices (United States and other countries)
• Resend: sending email from this website (United States)
• Vercel: hosting this website (United States and other countries)
• Google: Google Analytics, and our business email (United States and other countries)

How long we keep it

• Purchase records: six years after the end of the tax year, as the Canada Revenue Agency requires.
• Enquiries and brochure requests: up to two years after we last hear from you.
• Product notice requests: until we send the notice, or you ask us to remove you.
• Analytics: up to 14 months, under our Google Analytics settings.

Cookies

We use Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are useful. The cart remembers its contents in your own browser; nothing about it is sent to us until you check out. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit between your browser and this website, and access to it is limited to the people who need it to serve you.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or withdraw consent to optional uses such as marketing. Write to our privacy officer at info@trustarsafety.com or TruStar Safety Inc., c/o Brian Preston, RR5, Wetaskiwin, Alberta T9A 1X2. We reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

We will post any change to this policy on this page, with a new date at the top.
