Who you are buying from

Templates on this website are sold by TruStar Safety Inc., c/o Brian Preston, RR5, Wetaskiwin, Alberta T9A 1X2 ("TruStar Safety", "we"). You can reach us at info@trustarsafety.com or 403-999-8806.

Prices and payment

Prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include GST/HST, which is added at checkout based on your billing address. When you buy two or more templates in one order, the bundle discount shown in your cart comes off the whole order. A promotion code works on an order of one template and can’t be combined with a bundle discount.

Payment is taken by Stripe on its hosted checkout page. We never see or store your full card number. Your receipt and a GST invoice are emailed to you by Stripe.

Delivery

Templates are digital downloads. Your download is available on the confirmation page as soon as payment goes through, and we email you a download link.

You can download your templates again from Find my downloads using the email address you paid with, for as long as we publish the template and for at least 12 months after we stop. If we ever stop, we will email you first so you can save a copy.

Lifetime updates

Every update we make to a template you bought is included at no extra charge, for as long as we publish it: when legislation, the audit or good practice changes, we publish a new edition.

We email you when a new edition is ready, with what changed and a link to download it. You can stop those emails from the link in any of them; your downloads keep working either way. Your own edited copy is never changed, so it is up to you to carry the changes into your program.

Your licence

Each purchase gives one company (the legal entity named at checkout or on your program, and its workers) a licence to use the template. You may:

• edit it, put your name and logo on it and adopt it as your own health and safety program
• print it and copy it as often as you need inside your company
• give copies of your finished program to your auditor, clients, prime contractors, prequalification platforms and regulators

You may not:

• resell, sublicense or share the template (edited or not) with another company, except as your own finished program as above
• publish it where the public can download it
• use it to make a template or program product for sale

Consultants who set up programs for several clients need a multi-company licence. Contact us before using one template for more than one company.

We keep the copyright in the template. What you add to it (your names, procedures and records) is yours.

What a template is, and is not

Our templates are a starting point written by experienced safety professionals. You are responsible for tailoring the program to your work, keeping it current and putting it into practice. A template is not legal advice.

Our manuals are laid out to follow a certifying partner’s COR audit, but no written program can guarantee a certificate, a passing audit score or compliance with the law: that depends on how the program is implemented, your records, and what an auditor or officer finds. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any certifying partner or regulator, and their names are used only to describe what a template follows.

We review templates when legislation or audit tools change, but laws change without notice. Check the legislation that applies to you.

Refunds

Our refund policy explains when we give refunds and exchanges. It forms part of these terms.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a template is limited to what you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including fines, lost contracts or lost profits. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.

The articles, guides and other content on this website are general information, not advice for your particular situation. Links to other websites are for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Alberta.

We may update these terms. The version in force when you buy is the one that applies to that purchase.
